A Song in the Night

Our CMPE pilot study has produced another terrific example of this phenomenon, which I have been given permission to share with you. As background for this, I should share that Jim had already had an earlier CMPE that told him he needed to express a unified purpose in his work life. He wondered if that CMPE was really pointing him to a book project that was on the table. He said,  Continue reading ›

A CMPE about breaking the chain of generational pathology

One of the participants in our pilot study had a very powerful and very personal CMPE. She has given me permission to share it with you. Continue reading ›

An optimistic CMPE about the pilot study

As you know if you’ve been following this blog, we are doing a pilot study of the phenomenon of CMPEs. Our main goal is to see if our group of participants will actually have their own CMPEs. They not only have to have them, however, they also have to notice them. I’m convinced that most CMPEs pass by unnoticed, or so nearly unnoticed that they are quickly forgotten. Continue reading ›

Finder of lost things

I have been away from this blog for a few weeks because I’ve been relocating to England. But now that I’m here and settling in, I hope to get back to my regular weekly schedule. I want to tell a CMPE here that I recently told a friend. She called it “adorable,” so I thought I would share the story with all of you. Continue reading ›

A predictive sign that failed and then seemed to be fulfilled

Nour Foundation panel discussion on synchronicity

This past Wednesday, I was honored to take part in a panel on synchronicity sponsored by the Nour Foundation. It took place at the Harvard Club in New York City. The other panelists were: Paul DeBell, author of Decoding the Spiritual Messages of Everyday Life: How Life Shows Us What We Need to Know. He had taken the lead in inviting the other panelists and structuring the evening. Paul and his wife Susan took us out for a lovely meal before the event and hosted the rest of us for brunch at their home the next day, for a discussion of synchronicity. I think we all enjoyed the opportunity to get together for such a lengthy discussion with colleagues of varying viewpoints. Continue reading ›

The classic type of CMPE

Part of what convinces me that CMPEs are a real phenomenon is that they all have a common structure. Within that common structure, however, there are certain types. What I want to do in this post is talk about the main type, the classic variation on that common structure. Continue reading ›

Miranda’s Favorite Book

Nicola and I had a really nice CMPE last November about our four-year-old, Miranda, being ready to learn how to read, a sign that appears to be coming true. Continue reading ›

Material choices and spiritual lessons

In a recent post, I shared something from Paul DeBell, author of Decoding the Spiritual Messages of Everyday Life: How Life Shows Us What We Need to Know. In that same post, I responded to Paul’s points. He then responded to me via e-mail and invited me to continue the dialogue. Here is what he said:  Continue reading ›
