Announcing a Pilot Study of Meaningful Coincidences

Do meaningful coincidences happen frequently in your life? Have you ever wished you could make sense of them? Are you interested in taking a closer look?

We are looking for participants for a small pilot study of a specific phenomenon we have termed, “Conjunctions of Meaningfully Parallel Events” (CMPEs).

A CMPE is something like an extreme form of synchronicity, in which two unrelated events, occurring within hours of each other, share a long list of objective similarities. The extreme similarity of the two events seems to put their convergence way beyond chance. Nevertheless, they seem designed to convey a message about a relevant situation in our lives. (The CMPE model has been described at length in Signs: A New Approach to Coincidence, Synchronicity, Guidance, Life Purpose, and God’s Plan, by Robert Perry, and on Perry’s website www.semeionpress.com.)

Because they have such specific qualities, we believe that CMPEs can be studied scientifically. In this pilot, we are trying to determine if they occur in the lives of a variety of people and, if so, how frequently.

At the moment we’re only looking for 10-15 participants, but hopefully our results will pave the way for more formal studies in the future. If you would like more information, please respond to this e-mail (or write robert@semeionpress.com), and we’d be happy to send along more specifics.

Thank you,
