Frank talk with our daughter about the way things work in the world

Last week, I wrote about a CMPE I had about helping my daughter Miranda get past her fears. At the end of that post, I mentioned that this week I would talk about the fact that “it intimately related to one we had the night before, about my older daughter, and one we had the [...]

A CMPE about helping our daughter get past her fears

Our little (nearly) five-year-old girl, Miranda, has a lot of fears. Nicola recently had a nice little CMPE about helping her deal with those fears. It’s not earth-shattering, but it’s a great example of the phenomenon.

A window onto how CMPEs are passing by unnoticed

Recently, one of the participants in our pilot study had a CMPE that he initially didn’t notice in spite of impressive parallels between the two events. In my mind, this example has a lot to say about what is happening with perhaps the majority of CMPEs. I’ll let Alec tell the story:

A prediction about getting our lives set up in England

We had a fun and upbeat CMPE the other day, which I thought I would tell you about. We have just moved to England as of June 1st and it’s actually been a bit of an uphill climb getting basic services set up. For the first two and a half weeks, our rental house had [...]

A Song in the Night

Our CMPE pilot study has produced another terrific example of this phenomenon, which I have been given permission to share with you. As background for this, I should share that Jim had already had an earlier CMPE that told him he needed to express a unified purpose in his work life. He wondered if that [...]

A CMPE about breaking the chain of generational pathology

One of the participants in our pilot study had a very powerful and very personal CMPE. She has given me permission to share it with you.

An optimistic CMPE about the pilot study

As you know if you’ve been following this blog, we are doing a pilot study of the phenomenon of CMPEs. Our main goal is to see if our group of participants will actually have their own CMPEs. They not only have to have them, however, they also have to notice them. I’m convinced that most [...]

Finder of lost things

I have been away from this blog for a few weeks because I’ve been relocating to England. But now that I’m here and settling in, I hope to get back to my regular weekly schedule. I want to tell a CMPE here that I recently told a friend. She called it “adorable,” so I thought [...]

Miranda’s Favorite Book

Nicola and I had a really nice CMPE last November about our four-year-old, Miranda, being ready to learn how to read, a sign that appears to be coming true.

A new idea comes from three carefully coordinated CMPEs

A couple of months ago I told the story of a CMPE about Sharon, which was nudging her to explore the whole question of what her “special function” might be. Here is how she interpreted it: “I thought the message was to ‘get off your rump, Sharon, and stop thinking it’s too late to have [...]
